By Ritual Committee Grand Lodge, 1903 In issuing this Ritual the Committee appointed by the Lodge for its compilation thinks its right to give a brief explanation of the principles upon which its labours have been based. The Committee has made no attempt to compile an entirely new Ritual. Recognising the strong hold that the commonly used rituals have upon the affection of members of the lodge, its object has been to preserve as much as possible of the language endeared by all previous associations. The Committee has aimed at the excision of those portions of the Rituals generally in use which are known to be in conflict with historical truth as given in Holy Writ. This has led to the substitution of the Lecture on the Second Tracing Board as given here for that to be found in the Rituals referred to.
